Material ConneXion^® Bangkok is part of Material & Design Innovation Center, on the 2nd floor of Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC).Material & Design Innovation Center or MDIC promotes and supports innovation, ignites thinking, and creates business opportunities and business match up to increase the competition capacity, with over 8,000 materials and innovations worldwide. We are aiming at the exploration of material selection and trend updates. The center provides Material Solution Consulting service and Material Submission service for material manufacturers to propose innovative and environment friendly material to Material ConneXion^®.

Material Library and Online Database

Material ConneXion^® Bangkok is Asia’s first branch of Material ConneXion^® New York. As a source of information on fascinating commercial materials from Thailand and overseas, we maintain an online database of more than 8,000 world-class innovations. Over 2,000 samples of materials are available in our physical library. We showcase novel materials every month on the NEW Arrival shelf, categorized based on their chemical composition into 8 types: polymers, glass, ceramics, carbon-based, cement-based, metals, naturals, and processes. Here at Material ConneXion^® Bangkok, we aim to broaden your horizons when it comes to material selection, keep you up to date with material trends to help with your design, and create business opportunities with materials.

How to Search our Materials Database

On the label of a material on display, you will find the material’s composition, properties, and initial applications. For further details and how to contact the supplier, you can search our Material ConneXion^® online database on-site at the “Search Guru” service point, using the 6-digit material ID displayed on the label, for example, 6106-04.

Our Services

Material & Design Innovation Center promotes innovation, crystalizes ideas, creates business opportunities, and brings together entrepreneurs and creative innovators to increase competitiveness. We offer three main services, which are:

• Resources and Exhibition of more than 5,000 pieces of materials and innovations made in Thailand and overseas in the following zones: Material ConneXion^® Bangkok, Material Mapping: Bangkok, Material Innovation, Innovation Showcase, ASEAN Material, and Design Innovation.

• Trend Books, we offer in-depth information on fashion trends, consumer behavior, lifestyles, colors and designs in the world’s newest creations that set forth trends two years in advance from Trend Book and other leading trend magazines, including Carlin, Nelly Rodi, Mix Trend and View Point. We also provide databases of consumers, marketing, retail businesses, and global innovation trends via library.tcdc.or.th. Just click on the “WGSN” button.

Manufacturer Inquiries

Entrepreneurs and designers are encouraged to submit their innovative and eco-friendly materials for consideration to be curated in the Material ConneXion^® database to expand their reach globally.
