Material ConneXion Daegu - Material ConneXion

Material ConneXion^® Daegu is operated by the non-profit government organization Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Design Promotion (DGDP), located 2-hours by train from Seoul. Daegu Metropolitan City is known as “Textile City” and the birth city of Samsung. Daegu is focused on growth in future-oriented automotives, high-tech machinery, next generation electronics, and renewable energy.

DGDP was established in 2008 along with the grand opening of Material ConneXion^® Daegu, as the ‘Total Business Care & Service Center’ for design. The major services of DGDP are supporting the design industry and designers, improving design education & training, promoting Korean design globally, and raising design awareness across the region.

Material Library and Online Database

The Material Library and Online Database is accessed by members from design studios, engineering firms, brand manufacturers, and universities. We have 5K+ tangible material samples available in our physical library with 10K+ material profiles in the online database.

Our collection of exciting material technologies is updated every month from across the globe. At MCX Daegu, we rotate our exhibit to showcase material and design cases studies related to state-of-the-art and future trends in order to support our members’ innovation.

Our Services

Membership to Material Library and Online Database is fee-based and targeted toward designers, engineers, and brands seeking to improve their products or find the most sustainable materials available.

On-demand Material Consulting with cross-industry material knowledge is available at our location. We provide initial recommendations of material with specific performance, pricing, or sourcing requirements.

Seminars and workshops provide insight on new materials and trends across a wide range industries.
